Explaining the different types of crosstabs and how they are used in the reporting process. For help on the options see here.
Key Crosstab
Includes a crosstab after every closed-end question (excluding rank order, demographic, and questions with an option count greater than 26).
Single and multiple select questions with fewer than 40 options can be marked as a Key Crosstab.
Both chart and table slides are created.
Multi-banner
Includes a crosstab with multiple banner questions after every single or multiple select question (excluding demographic and questions with an option count greater than 26).
Up to 4 single select questions each with fewer than 10 options can be set
If the row question is single select and has fewer than 8 options, a chart is created; otherwise, a table is created.
Crosstab
Single and multiple select questions with fewer than 40 options can be marked as a crosstab.
Internally, a crosstab is created for every closed-end question (excluding rank order).
These are all output in the Excel file
If set, significance testing is performed
If significance testing is on and the delta between columns is above a certain threshold, include them in the Crosstabs deck
If included, both a chart and a table slide are generated
If set, the Top N crosstabs are copied from the internal set and added to the main Charts PowerPoint deck
If included, both a chart and a table slide are generated.
Additionally
If the row question is a table with options as a scale, the Top 2 options in that scale for each row are combined and charted/tabled.
If not a scale, slides are created for each row in the table question.
There are a bunch of rules for what constitutes a Top N, but they are not relevant to this topic.
