Survey shorthand is a concise text based format to describe the core content of a survey. Each question starts on a separate line with a unique set of symbols that indicate its type followed by the text of the question. Depending on the type of the question the non-blank lines after it add additional content (like options or grid rows). For more information see the Support section.
The following symbols define the question types:
() - Single select
[] - Multiple select
<> - Textbox list
{} - Essay
++ - Table
^^ - Ranking
For example a single select question with three options:
() What is your favorite color?
Red
Blue
Green
Table questions use a line of dashes to separate the column options from the grid rows.
For example a table question with 5 options and 4 rows might look like:
++ Please rate the following on a 5 point scale
1
2
3
4
5
------
Luxury
Comfort
Price

Text questions can identify fields as numeric with #
or $%
prefix, currency with $
and email with @

For example:
